Travel from your local international Airport to meet the group at the Hotel in Singapore.

21 Apr 08 HANOI (B/D)
Transfer to Singapore Airport for your flight to Hanoi, where the group will be met at the airport and transferred to their hotel. This afternoon visit the Old Quarter by cyclo rickshaw, aptly named after the crafts or merchandise traditionally sold there. See the Water Puppet Show, a fantastic art form originating in northern Vietnam. Transfer to/from the restaurant for dinner.

22 Apr 08 HANOI (B/L)
Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Hanoi. Hanoi, is a city of lakes, shaded boulevards and public parks. As the capital of Vietnam, it is a very attractive city with French style buildings and less traffic than other cities in Asia. Our sightseeing tour of Hanoi includes Chua Mot Cot, built by the Emperor Ly Thai Tong, who designed and constructed it out of wood to resemble a lotus blossom. See the Temple of Literature, one of the best-preserved examples of traditional Vietnamese architecture. Founded in 1070 and dedicated to Confucius, this was also the site of Vietnam's first university. Explore Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum where the commanding stone monument houses the embalmed remains of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam's national hero. This afternoon is free to explore on your own and choose your own dining experience.

23 Apr 08 HANOI – HOLONG BAY (B/L/D)
Journey east along Highway 5 across Hai Hung Province to Halong Bay. This afternoon is at leisure to explore the Halong Bay area before reuniting with the group for dinner.

24 Apr 08 HALONG BAY – HANOI (B/L: Seafood Lunch on Boat Trip)
Cruise on a traditional wooden boat among the emerald waters and craggy limestone cliffs of Halong Bay, stopping at different islands to explore some of the many caves in this area. Sail past floating villages, fishermen casting their nets and pearl fisheries and observe the rhythms of daily life on the bay. Transfer back to Hanoi mid afternoon for an evening of your choice.

25 Apr 08 HANOI - HUE (B/L: Local Restaurant (Vietnam) / Dinner: An Binh Restaurant)
This morning transfer to Hanoi Airport for a flight to Hue. On arrival meet our local guide for a sightseeing tour of Hue. Hue was established in the 17th Century and was the capitol of Vietnam for more than 140 years. Visit the Old Imperial City with its Citadel, modelled after the Forbidden City in Beijing. See the principal entrance to the Ngo Mon Gate followed by the Thai Hoa Palace and the Halls of the Mandarins. Visit the Dong Ba Market with this afternoon at leisure before a fun night with the group.

26 Apr 08 HUE – DANANG – HOI AN (B/L/D)
Journey south along Highway 1 past the Hai Van Pass with its view of the Truong Son Mountain range which juts out into the South China Sea. Travel via Lang Co beach then continue to Danang, Vietnam’s fourth largest city. See the Cham Museum, and China Beach made famous in the American TV series of the same name. Visit Marble Mountains which is said to represent one of the five elements of the universe. The largest and most famous, Thuy Son, has a number of natural caves in which Buddhist sanctuaries have been built over the centuries.

27 Apr 08 HOI AN (B)
Hoi An is best explored by foot. Visit the Quan Cong Temple founded in 1653, then Phuoc Kien Pagoda, Huoc Kien Pagoda a Chinese pagoda built around 1690 and then restored and enlarged in 1900. The temple is dedicated to Thien Hau Thanh Mau (Goddess of the Sea and Protector of Sailors and Fishermen). Explore the Japanese covered Bridge and the Tran Family Chapel which was a house for worshipping ancestors. The Tran family can trace its origins to China and moved to Vietnam around 1700. See Sa Huynh Museum, Phung Hung House and the Quang Dong Pagoda. This afternoon is at leisure for you to select your own lunch and dinner.

28 Apr 08 HOI AN - DENANG – SAIGON (B/D: Local Restaurant (Vietnam)
Travel to Denang to board a flight to Saigon. On arrival meet a local guide and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is for you to enjoy an unrushed lunch and wander before coming back and joining the rest of the group for dinner.

29 Apr 08 SAIGON (B/L: Local Restaurant (Vietnam)
Saigon is the largest of the Vietnamese cities, with the hustle and bustle of Vietnamese life visible everywhere. There are street markets, sidewalk cafes and sleek new bars. The city churns and bubbles. Yet within this teeming metropolis are 300 years of timeless traditions and the beauty of an ancient culture. To the west of the city is District 5, the huge Chinese neighborhood called Cholon, which means 'Big Market'. No tour would be complete without a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels. The Cu Chi Tunnels were an important base for the Vietcong because of their strategic location. See the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office, the Reunification Palace, and the War Remnants Museum.

After breakfast in the hotel, you are free to enjoy a day at leisure to explore Saigon.

01 May 08 SAIGON (B/L/D)
From Saigon, transfer to My Tho, a bustling town in the rich agricultural region of the Mekong Delta and visit the Vinh Trang Pagoda, a beautiful temple and a sanctuary for orphans and other needy children. Afterwards board a local boat to explore the islands of the Mekong, stopping at a fruit orchard to enjoy fruit and tea while listening to local music. Our trip includes a brief sampan ride through the tiny waterways that thread the island.
